Hollywoods
biggest stars proved that fashion is the name of the game at any event but even
more so when it is something as renowned as Metropolitan Museum of Arts annual
Costume Institute Gala in New York which took place on the 6th May.
With the
theme being edgy the stars left their inhibitions at home and convinced
everyone that goth is certainly the new glam.
With a
variety of interpretations of the theme the Gala looked like a mixed runway
show where glamour, confidence and originality were key.
A sea of eye
catching elegant outfits, head-turning sexy ensembles and heart-stoppingly
inventive get ups made this years Gala one to remember.
There were
the stars who made ‘safe’ the new sexy with simple yet flattering dresses that
were so dazzling they didn’t need to be accessorized for Simon Cowell to give
his approval, they already had the X factor.
Miranda Kerr
naturally stunned in a Michael Kors cut-away dress and her most accentuating
accessory were her deep berry red lips complementing the look with a tasty
edge.
Cameron Diaz
donned a Stella McCartney fitted cobalt blue dress and cape finishing the look
with a rocky style black belt with gold spikes and Olivia Wilde shone in a
bandeu style ivory satin dress with cutaway detail and a slight black panelling
making her look effortlessly beautiful.
Miss Kerr
would have looked even vampire if she had added a pair of daring earrings such
as the Tebazile spider web ones or for a less daring look she could have added
a plain Tebazile silver cuff that is so
simple yet statement.
The lovely
Cameron Diaz would have been over the moon with the Tebi
Jewels gold tone spike ring, it would have matched her belt and
added to her rockability.
Olivia Wilde
did ‘simple’ proud but she could have added the X factor with a Tebazile Black Onyx Ring, this would have picked up the black panelling in her dress,
giving the monochrome essence more definition and served as an edgy injection
to the outfit fit for the theme.

Others used eccentricity
as a nod to the theme and ensured all eyes were on them with perhaps a choice
of slightly bizarre but nonetheless fitting outfits for the occasion.
Kristen
Stewart wore a Stella McCartney mulled wine jumpsuit with broderie anglaise
detailing and matching eye shadow finished off with black heels and a clutch
bag.
Debatably a
bit of a dull choice Kristen should have shocked with a pair of over the top
earrings, especially as she was wearing her hair in a sleek up-do.
A pair of
plain yet sassy square metal silver Tebazile Earrings
would have complemented and accentuated the look effortlessly.
And Whilst
Katy Perry chose an OTT Dolce and Gabbana costume consisting of a boxy
embellished style gown that did not favour her figure, gold crown and extra
large gold earrings giving the whole look a baroque essence rather than a punk
one Beyonce took to the red carpet in a Givenchy flame motif skirt with
matching high boots and long gloves, snakeskin corset and studded belt also a
seemingly unusual choice wich was missing the perfect Tebi
Jewels Black Choker.

Then there
were those that wanted to celebrate a fusion of sexy and elegance with a hint
of punk.
Kate
Bosworth although she seemed to have neglected the essence of the gala with
little attitude to her outfit she did manage to still look stunning in her
Balmain pink beaded mini dress teamed with a black and gold belt.
SJP
certainly lived up to her wacky fashionista status in a Giles Deacon gown that
was cupcake like puffy in black, gold, brown and ivory hues mixed together to
create a pattern and cut so at the front so that her high black velvet boots
were on show and giving us a sexy peek-a-boo style.
She then
topped the brave style stakes once again by teaming up her outfit with a Philip
Treacy Mohican hairpiece whilst Katie Holmes kept it very simple in a billowing
ivory white Calvin Klein halterneck gown that was screaming out for an added Tebazile plain gold or silver cuff that would
have inevitably completed her outfit.

And last but
not least there were the stars that took the theme to heart and ensured to put
the punk into fashion.
If anyone
was going to execute the theme to perfection it was going to be Miley Cyrus as
punk and chaos are right up her street.
She wore a
spectacular floor length column Marc Jacobs dress constructed head to toe in
black fishnet.
She topped
the already rocky look with spiky hair, vibrant red blood lips and an oversized
cocktail ring, needless to say Miss Cyrus did not disappoint.
And whilst
Anne Hathaway showed off her newly bleached hair and her envious figure in a
vintage Valentino sheer dress with black feather writs cuff detailing, Madonna
shocked (as usual) in a belted blazer by Givenchy Couture, chequered with large
gold studs, fishnets and black stockings paired with hot pink heels and
Florence Welch did the gala proud by stepping out in Givenchy Couture and
showing her vixen side with an opulent black number with a sexy centre split,
beaded work on the bustier and dramatic fringe sleeves.

The great
thing about this years met gala is that it brought to life one of peoples old
favourite fashion trends and one that is easily put together.
Spikes, bold
colours, daring chains, oversized accessories teamed with brave hair styles and
colours, fishnets and anything else that mixes is already the beginning of a
rock story.
Tebi Jewels
and Tebazile have of course also covered this trend when showcasing their
collections.
With an
array of chain accessories, long layering necklaces, statement silver numbers,
matching earrings a la punk, funky, bold and bright earrings and a copious
amount of rosaries in different styles, colours and sizes available there is
nothing you won’t find to complete your rock attire.
